The COMETA Report (in English): A Review

The COMETA Report is an independent study on UFOs written by the French association COMETA, which first appeared in a July 1999 special issue of the magazine VSD. The report is supposed to detail the results of a detailed study by the Institute of Higher Studies for National Defence. It was originally published in french, but an english translation is available online or for download here.

The membership of COMETA (the Committee for in-depth studies) sports "credible" individuals (ie. prominent members of the world system) such as career military men, scientists, law enforcers, and attorneys. Although the report was issued by a French association, which one would suppose would deal primarily with French affairs, it is heavily interested in and accusative of United States military, political, and scientific affairs.

In summary, the 90 page report presents a handful of unsolved cases involving unidentified flying objects, speculates on and accuses the United States of UFO disinformation, the intentional cover-up of alien technology, and heavily favors the extraterrestrial hypothesis while all but laughing at any alternative theories or dismissals.

To the report's credit, it highlights the obvious physically detectable effects of some of the UFO phenomena, such as electromagnetic anomalies, particularly regarding microwaves. However, it goes out of its way to dismiss hypotheses that more closely fit the overwhelming majority of the phenomena, and even suggests that simply because there is no known way (according to the COMETA authors) to scientifically test these hypotheses, which it calls "ascientific," such hypotheses "aren't much good to us."

Among the hypotheses immediately dismissed as "not much good to us" are any notions of a private or secretive group controlling things, any suggestions of spirits, any mention of the devil, holographic images, media hype, or basically anything other than manmade or extraterrestrial craft. In other words, spirits and devils aren't real because COMETA says that even if they are it doesn't matter (this position relies on the assumption that we somehow know that a spirit cannot be detected), secretive groups aren't provable because COMETA says so, and holographic images and media hype are just simply implausible because COMETA says so.

In particular, of hypotheses classed as 'ascientific' by COMETA, the report dismissively states: "We are being manipulated without realizing it" (by a very secret, very powerful, and very knowledgeable group of people; by strange, unknown or even extraterrestrial beings; by spirits; by the devil; by our psychological fantasies; etc.). Obviously, we cannot say a priori whether these hypotheses are true or false [since] they cannot be proven; their main drawback is that they aren't much good to us.

Parapsychological phenomenoa and collective hallucinations should be classified in this category. The same is true of the idea that is sometimes expressed that the futuristic craft sighted are actually products of the future activity of humanity. Our descendents of the distant [future], who have found the way to go back in time, come to observe us... (pg 40)

The COMETA report then goes on to say about its prefered hypothesis concerning the visitation of earth by extraterrestrials for the purposes of study that: Both hypotheses [referring to two variations of the same hypothesis] have to their credit the fact that they place the UFO problem outside the realm of the paranormal and promote thought about the future of our planet. (pg 42)

Notably, after the report dismisses secretive groups, media hype, and anything spiritual in nature, it goes on to praise the activities of UFO researchers and promoters of the extraterrestrial hypothesis who were financially backed by the Rockefellers. On page 51, it praises the Rockefellers, stating:

In recent years, the three main ufological associations have been brought together by a leading U.S. personality, Marie Galbraith, to conduct a joint study. She is the wife of Evan Griffith Galbraith, who was U.S. Ambassador to France from 1981 to 1985. Thus she is well-acquainted with our country and our language, since she lived on Avenue Gabriel. Supported both morally and financially by Laurence Rockefeller, brother of the famous David Rockefeller, she traveled the world to meet the principal scientists interested in UFOs and to collect the best cases.

The report then goes on to say:

On the whole, Marie Galbraith's book is descriptive...Such was also the spirit of the international scientific colloquium organized in September 1997 by Laurence Rockefeller at Pocantico, near West Point, on the property of the Rockefeller Bros. Fund. Moderated by astrophysicist Peter Sturrock, this colloquium focused on physical evidence concerning UFOs.

After dismissing secretive groups and singing its praises to the Rockefellers, the report then goes on, on page 79, to imply that any connections between the UFO phenomenon and the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the Bilderberg Group, or the Trilateral Commission are completely erroneous disinformation. To highlight this point, the report drags up two of the most notable nutcases and disinformation agents there ever were: John Lear and William Cooper, and connects their delusional ideas to the aforementioned groups and any suggestions of their relationship to the UFO phenomenon.

Finally, the decidely anti-religious COMETA report labels all religion as "manipulative" (pg 58), and wastes no time asserting that the accounts of the Nephilim mentioned in the Holy Bible and the Book of Enoch were really E.T.s (pg 65).

In closing, I would highly suggest that everyone obtain this report and read it for themselves (don't just take my word for anything). You may disagree with my interpretation and find that your interpretation is more to your liking. I tried to remain objective in my review of the report, but to be perfectly honest it is really hard to do so when I can clearly see the endorsement of globalization, support for the activities of the Rockefellers, and an overall push for the New Age interpretation, all the while dropping an ocassional dismissal or cleverly disguised insult toward those with alternative theories or beliefs.

Why We Have Angels On Top of Christmas Trees

I'm just going to ramble on with some of my thoughts today, so don't expect a major presentation, but did you ever wonder why angels and stars (two nearly always interchangeable terms in the Holy Bible) are placed on the tops of our Christmas trees?  Me too! but we probably don't wonder for the same reasons.

Anyone who has read any of the articles on this blog knows that I go on and on about the Nephilim, or giants of Genesis.  I do so with good reason, and that reason is because I realize the major importance such texts as the Book of Enoch, and the belief in the various stories concerning the Nephilim, demons, and fallen angels played in the early Church, and not only that, but what a major influence the Book of Enoch was on the New Testament Scriptures (it is quoted throughout them).

So, during the course of my research it suddenly dawned on me (probably from experiences I have had and research I have done) that there is a definite connection between angelic beings, whether fallen, still holy, or even the Nephilim (demons), and that of trees.  I made this connection for several reasons too numerous to mention, but I assure you that anyone who has followed this type of research (Nephilim, demons, jinn, elves, faeries, etc.) understands precisely what I am saying.  For example, the elves or jinn were known to occupy trees (many stories about staying clear of trees because of these entities still persist to this day), and women were not supposed to walk beneath trees with their hair down for fear it would entice these creatures.

But anyway, so I was browsing through some information concerning all the beliefs concerning demons and angels found in the Talmud and then going to the Talmud and looking them up (probably for quotes in future articles), and I ran across a few interesting things, mainly that angels are supposedly composed of wind or fire (see Psalm 104:4) -this is precisely what the early Church Fathers said, and that the Jewish Rabbis did have beliefs concerning the angels and also demons mating with women (and men), and also that the "evil spirits" (ie. the demons) often hung out and frequented trees.  There were even specific trees to stay away from!

So let's look at a few things for you to think about concerning angels and trees (nothing hard yet, only a few loose associations to think about):

1.  Angels are messengers, messages are often written on paper (which comes from trees)
2.  Verbal messages are carried through the air, which trees are magically associated with in the occult.
3.  Satan is the Prince of the Power of the Air (again, air and trees)
4.  According to the Talmud, demons were most likely to attack at night (usually around sunset), on the night before the Sabbath, and also on Wednesdays (I find this interesting because John Keel noted that most UFO abductions and encounters take place on Wednesdays), and Wednesdays are associated with Mercury, the god of messengers.  Mercury/Hermes/Odin is also associated with the air, telecommunications, travel, and you guessed it - trees.  Also, UFOs are associated with the air.
5.  Trees are a common object of worship, there are even wishing trees, and this is all because the trees were believed to house spirits (often evil or trickster like).  The Talmud mentions demons and even the heavenly angels as being a bit mischievous.
6.  Pan, an obvious Nephilim, was known for his flute, which was made from - trees.
7.  The serpent in the Garden of Eden, which was possessed by Satan, is said to have been in a tree.
8.  An angel was placed in (or at the edge of) the Garden of Eden to guard the Tree of Life.
9.  Many of the false gods of the Bible were associated with trees, tree worship, and idolatry taking place under trees (particularly conifers which had ornaments on them) - see Jeremiah 10 and Ezekiel 20:27-48.
10.  The Christmas star on trees is said to represent the Star of Bethlehem (star=angel), and if an angel is used on the tree it is said to represent the heavenly hosts.  Either way, you have an angel sitting in a tree!
11.  "and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind." -Revelation 6:13.   Putting the clues together, we can possibly assume that this verse in Revelation is talking about the angels falling from Heaven.  The verse is most likely a reference to angels.
12.  Abraham was visited by three angels who appeared near a tree.  Genesis 18.
13.  And, I'm not sure what to think of the Lord appearing to Moses in a burning bush - a tree.

So anyway, there you go.  There is something about angels and trees for you to ponder while you stare at your Christmas tree this year.  I know this post is a bit early for it, but "Have a Merry Christmas!"

Eugenics, Transhumanism and Spiritual Warfare

The word eugenics comes from the Greek word eu, meaning "good" or "well," and the suffix -genēs, meaning born. It was coined by Sir Francis Galton in 1883, to describe the study of methods under human control which can improve or impair the human race by controlling reproduction. Infanticide, reprogenetics, abortion, compulsory sterilization, euthanasia and designer babies are all forms of eugenics.

The eugenics philosophy can be traced back (in non-biblical sources) to at least as far as Plato, who argued in the Republic that the state should monitor and control the reproduction of its citizens. He advocated that eugenics policies be carried out through deception and proposed a sort of "marriage lottery," among other things, by which to carry the plan out. Read Plato's Republic here.

Many eugenics policies have been carried out throughout history, particularly in pagan cultures. For example, eugenics policies such as infanticide, were carried out in Ancient Greece, and then the Roman Empire, for several hundred years, before the practice was ultimately ended by the Christianization of the Roman Empire. Eugenics then fell into disfavor for some twelve thousand years until its revival in the later part of the nineteenth century, by Sir Francis Galton, a relative of Charles Darwin.

Francis Galton thought charity was an unnatural act which upset the mechanism of natural selection by encouraging the poor and feeble to bear more children. Because of this, he thought the human race needed a form of artificial selection: eugenics. Galton ultimately desired eugenics to develop from science to religion (see Prometheanism).

Galton considered eugenics to be "the study of agencies under social control that may improve or impair the racial qualities of future generations, whether physically or mentally." The Eugenics Education Society used this definition on the cover of their Eugenics Review for a number of years.

One of the most famous American eugenicists was Charles Davenport. In 1904, he received funding from the Carnegie Institute to build the Biological Research Station at Cold Springs Harbor, and in 1910, he was again provided funds to build the Eugenics Records Office. Both facilities would play an important role in eugenics research.

The Eugenics Records Office was particularly useful in that it provided eugenicists with access to the medical histories of hundreds of thousands of Americans. This information allowed the later implementation of American eugenics laws to be enforced more effectively. In fact, eugenics programs throughout history appear to have been preceded by the mass collection of medical records and histories under the guise of health and efficiency.

Another famous eugenicist was Adolf Hitler, who attempted to procure what he deemed to be a "pure race" under the name of racial hygiene. The eugenics programs implemented during Hitler's reign successfully sterilized hundreds of thousands of people, and terminated millions more. In fact, his eugenics programs were so successful that they prompted one American eugenics advocate to push for an expansion of America's eugenics program, saying, "the Germans are beating us at our own game."

Other famous eugenicists include the founder of Planned Parenthood, Margaret Sanger, the psychologist Henry H. Goddard, environmental conservationist Madison Grant, the founder of the American Sociological Society, William Graham Sumner, and President Theodore Roosevelt.

Eugenics as Religion

The spiritual dimension of eugenics is often overlooked. Many influential individuals including Francis Galton, George Bernard Shaw and Bertrand Russel all advocated a eugenics religion. In fact, the American Journal of Eugenics advertised itself by informing prospective readers that it had formerly been known as "Lucifer the Light Bearer."

The first Director-General of the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and English eugenicist Julian Huxley remarked, "I find myself inevitably driven to use the language of religion. For the fact is that all this does add up to something in the nature of a religion: perhaps one might call it Evolutionary Humanism. The word religion is often used restrictively to mean belief in gods; but I am not using it in this sense...I am using it in a broader sense, to denote an overall relation between man and his destiny, and one involving his deepest feelings, including his sense of what is sacred. In this broad sense, evolutionary humanism, it seems to me, is capable of becoming the germ of a new religion, not necessarily supplanting existing religions but supplementing them."

Even post-World War II eugenics organizations, such as the Population Council, recognized the "cultural, moral and spiritual nature" of their plans for world population reduction, and the social, moral and ethical questions which were raised by what they deemed to be a need for population control and reduction following the population explosion which took place after the war. Such sentiments are echoed even today by environmental conservationists who are following in the footsteps of Madison Grant.

It is also worthwhile to note that the American Eugenics Society member Joseph Fletcher, helped to develop the emerging field of Bioethics.

Transhumanism and Eugenics

Transhumanism, or Humanity Plus (H+), is an international intellectual and cultural movement which supports the use of science and technology to improve human mental and physical characteristics and capacities through biotechnologies and nonbiotechnologies in order to eliminate unnecessary and undesirable human traits and conditions such as disability, disease, aging and death. The goal of transhumanism is to bring about a posthuman world in which huamnity is no longer hindered by its undesirable features, and even enhanced by inhuman features.

There is no clear definition as to what is meant by "to improve" human biology, but perhaps a glimpse is offered in the definition of eugenics as stated by Sir Francis Galton: "the study of agencies under social control that may improve or impair the racial qualities of future generations, whether physically or mentally."

The term transhumanism itself was first used by the President of the British Eugenics Society (1959-1962), Julian Huxley, who said: "The human species can, if it wishes, transcend itself – not just sporadically, an individual here in one way, an individual there in another way – but in its entirety, as humanity. We need a name for this new belief. Perhaps transhumanism will serve: man remaining man, but transcending himself, by realizing new possibilities of and for his human nature."

Huxley also said, "Political unification in some sort of world government will be required... Even though... any radical eugenic policy will be for many years politically and psychologically impossible, it will be important for UNESCO to see that the eugenic problem is examined with the greatest care, and that the public mind is informed of the issues at stake so that much that now is unthinkable may at least become thinkable."

Sir Julian Huxley was not only the President of the British Eugenics Society and the man who coined the term transhumanism, but also the first Director-General of UNESCO, Secretary of the Zoological Society of London and a prominent environmental conservationist who was the founding member of the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). His brother was Aldous Huxley, who wrote the classic novel entitled, Brave New World.

Eugenics and the Bible

The concept of eugenics goes back much further than Galton and even Plato, and the idea of ascending into godhood is even older than that. Eugenics and the concept of self-directed human evolution, as well as ascension to the throne of God, goes all the way back to the Garden of Eden. In fact, when properly understood, the Holy Scriptures have quite a lot to say about the history and various forms of eugenics.

Man first began his attempt at self-directed evolution when he fell:

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: for God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.     -Genesis 3:5-6

The word gods is "elohiym" (אלהים), meaning that the serpent was telling the woman that she would become as God, and both she and the man consciously chose to make that leap.

The fall is important because in it is found the curse that God places upon the serpent. It is because of this curse that the serpent is given motive for wanting to be directly involved in the genetic destiny of mankind. Indeed, if the serpent is able to annihilate the Image of God from earth by making the human species something other than human, then the serpent will have defeated God and shown His curse to be fruitless:

And I will put emnity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; and it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.     -Genesis 3:15

Numerous attempts are made throughout the Scriptures by both God and Satan (the serpent) to control the genetic destiny of mankind, all beginning after the Fall of Man. The first major occurrence takes place right before the deluge in Genesis chapter 6:

And it came to pass when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, that the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bear children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.    -Genesis 6:1-4

It was after this incident that God destroyed the world by flood in order to stop the abominable contamination of His Image on earth. Satan's plan has always been to abolish God's Image (humankind) from earth. Indeed, even many of the species created by God on the earth had been corrupted as is evident in the following destinction:

Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his family: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female.     -Genesis 7:2

Where did the unclean animals come from? Certainly the Lord God did not make them! God makes no unclean thing, and certainly they were no more unclean from the Fall of Man than any other beasts. The answer can only be that somehow these animals were contaminated while the "clean" animals were not.

Numerous other examples of eugenics occur, including the slaughtering of the firstborn, child sacrifice, genocidal wars, and the end times predictions of strange creatures, as well as the prophecy that man will take unto himself the image of the Beast and throw off the Image he was created in.

And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.     -Revelation 13:16-17

It is important to note that Satan already failed in his attempt to stop the prophecy of Genesis when Christ came and defeated him at Calvary, but Satan's eugenics program continues in an attempt to thwart the prophecies concerning both Israel and the Church. The people of God cannot inherit the Kingdom of God if their seed is removed from the earth by the cunning plans of Satan. Thus, Satan has made numerous attempts to prevent this inheritance including the atrocities of the Holocaust and current eugenics and transhumanist programs.

Satan and his forces are continuously at work trying to erase God and His people from the face of the earth. Satan's ultimate goal is to make man in his image, according to his own imaginations, and remove God from the equation all together. Believers in the One True God must remain vigilant to the deceptive plans of the Enemy.

May the Lord God Almighty protect the Church and the Israeli people during the days of the return of the Nephilim, and the rise of the new religion of self-directed human evolution.

First Human-Animal Hybrids Created in the U.K.

This is what the science of eugenics-transhumanism brings us:

Recent articles published by the Christian Institute and the UK Daily Mail detail how 155 perversions of God's creation were manufactured over the past three years inside the United Kingdom.  The human-cow abominations, known as Cybrids, were manufactured by a process known as "admixing" where human DNA is added to "empty" cow eggs - what appears to be a perverse scientific version of beastiality.  The revelation comes after government hearings in the UK.

According to a 2008 London Times Online article, these creatures had first been manufactured in some warehouse somewhere (called a laboratory for the public) via a group at Newcastle University. At least two other laboratories at Kings College and Warwick University, complete with lightning rods and mad scientists, participated in the experiment to create Frankencowstein.

The claim is that this in no longer going on, as the programs have been defunded (would you like to buy a bridge?).  In any event, many other countries who have little or no regulation have been manufacturing animal-human hybrids for years (so I guess that makes it all right for civilized nations to do it).  It is very likely that other animal-human hybrids were manufactured at least as early as the mid-nineties and probably before that.

The creation of these abominations are due to the re-emergence of the Nephilim onto the world stage as is foretold in the Holy Scripture, the Book of Enoch and also by the Apostolic Fathers of the Christian Church.  All of this has been done before and it is being done once again.  As the Book of Ecclesiastes states:

What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun.    -Ecclesiastes 1:9

Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately), this time when God judges the world for these abominable creations it will be the last of the Nephilim.  Posthumanists may disagree, but this was all foretold long before man even knew what a "cell" was!  I think I'll bank on the One who has all-knowledge, not the ones who have limited, finite and fallible knowledge.

Who Are the Nephilim?

The Nephilim are the offspring of the sons of God (fallen angels) and the daughters of men which are written about in Genesis 6:4. They are also mentioned as the inhabitants of Canaan prior to the Israelite occupation as is detailed in Numbers 13:33.

There were giants (Nephilim) in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.     -Genesis 6:4

And there we saw the giants (Nephilim), the sons of Anak, which came of the giants (Nephilim); and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.     -Numbers 13:33

The word Nephilim occurs twice in the Torah. The etymology of the word Nephilim (נפיל), comes from the root nâphal (נפל), which means "to fall." The Nephilim are the "fallen ones," or "giants" of Genesis.

There are two theories on who the Nephilim were/are, of which, the prevailing modern theory is the absurd idea that they are the sons of Seth, while the doctrine among the early Church fathers—and taught in the Scriptures—is that of the Nephilim being the offspring of the fallen angels and women. I suspect that the former theory (the later one, by the way) arose due to the Church trying to hide what it deemed to be an embarassing passage despite the truth contained in the Word of God that the Nephilim are indeed the root of demonic entities.

And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.     -Jude 1:6

For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment; and spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;"     -2 Peter 2:4-5

Jude quotes directly from the Book of Enoch (Jude 14&15), which we will get to later, but for now let's take a look at what the earliest Church fathers, such as Athenagorus, Justin Martyr and Irenaeus stated about the Nephilim:

Just as with men, who have freedom of choice as to both virtue and vice (for you would not either honour the good or punish the bad, unless vice and virtue were in their own power; and some are diligent in the matters entrusted to them by you, and others faithless), so is it among the angels. Some, free agents, you will observe, such as they were created by God, continued in those things for which God had made and over which He had ordained them; but some outraged both the constitution of their nature and the government entrusted to them: namely, this ruler of matter and its various forms, and others of those who were placed about this first firmament (you know that we say nothing without witnesses, but state the things which have been declared by the prophets); these fell into impure love of virgins, and were subjugated by the flesh, and he became negligent and wicked in the management of the things entrusted to him. Of these lovers of virgins, therefore, were begotten those who are called giants.     -Athenagorus, A Plea for the Christians, Chapter XXIV; Roberts & Donaldson, Ante-Nicene Fathers Volume 2, Pg. 224

These angels, then, who have fallen from heaven, and haunt the air and the earth, and are no longer able to rise to heavenly things, and the souls of the giants, which are the demons who wander about the world, perform actions similar, the one (that is, the demons) to the natures they have received, the other (that is, the angels) to the appetites they have indulged.     -Athenagorus, A Plea for the Christians, Chapter XXV; Roberts & Donaldson, Ante-Nicene Fathers Volume 2, Pg. 225

But the angels transgressed this appointment, and were captivated by love of women, and begat children who are those that are called demons; and besides, they afterwards subdued the human race to themselves, partly by magical writings, and partly by fears and the punishments they occasioned, and partly by teaching them to offer sacrifices, and incense, and libations, of which things they stood in need after they were enslaved by lustful passions; and among men they sowed murders, wars, adulteries, intemperate deeds, and all wickedness.     -Second Apology of Justin Martyr, Chapter V; Roberts & Donaldson, Ante-Nicene Fathers Volume 1, Pg. 298

Since the Son of God is always one and the same, He gives to those who believe on Him a well of water [springing up] to eternal life, but He causes the unfruitful fig-tree immediately to dry up; and in the days of Noah He justly brought on the deluge for the purpose of extinguishing that most infamous race of men then existent, who could not bring forth fruit to God, since the angels that sinned had commingled with them, and [acted as He did] in order that He might put a check upon the sins of these men, but [that at the same time] He might preserve the archetype, the formation of Adam.     -Irenæus, Against Heresies Book IV, Chapter XXXVI; Roberts & Donaldson, Ante-Nicene Fathers Volume 1, Pgs. 865-866

I mentioned the book of Enoch earlier...Enoch was the son of Jared (note the days of Jared below), and the father of Methuselah. He is specifically mentioned in Genesis chapter 5 as the very first righteous man after Adam, who never tasted death, but was caught up to heaven by God:

And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters: and all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years: and Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.     -Genesis 5:22-24

In the Book of Enoch (which the earliest Church fathers and even the Holy Bible quotes from), translated from Professor Dillman's Ethiopic text by R.H. Charles (1893), there are ample references to the Nephilim. I shall quote from Chapter 6-7 for you (found on pages 62-65). The portion of the text from which I quote is of the oldest portion of Enoch, and dates to no earlier than 161 B.C.:

And it came to pass when the children of men had multiplied in those days that beautiful and comely daughters were born unto them. And the angels, the sons of heaven, saw and lusted after them, and spake to one another, "Come, now let us choose wives from among the children of men and beget children."

And Semjâzâ who was their leader spake unto them: "I fear you will not indeed agree to do this deed and then I alone shall have to pay the penalty of great sin."

Then answered they all unto him and spake: "Let us all swear an oath, and bind ourselves by mutual imprecations not to abandon this plan but to carry it into execution." Then sware they all together and bound themselves by mutual imprecations to its fulfillment; and they were in all two hundred.

And they descended in the days of Jared on the summit of Mount Hermon, and they called it Mount Hermon, because they had sworn and bound themselves by mutual imprecations upon it.

And these are the names of their leaders: Samjâzâ, their leader, Urâkîbarâmêêl, Kôkabîêl, Tâmiêl, Râmuêl, Dânêl, Zaqîlô, Sarâqujâl, Asâêl, Armârôs, Batraal, Anânî, Zaqêbê, Samsâvêêl, Sartaêl, Turêl, Jomjâêl, Arâzjâl. These are their chiefs of ten, and all the others were with them.

And they took unto themselves wives, and each chose for himself one, and they began to go in unto them and they mixed with them, and taught them charms and enchantments, and made them acquainted with the cutting of roots and of woods.

And they became pregnant, and they bear great giants, whose height was three thousand ells. And these consumed all the acquisitions of men till men could no longer sustain them. Then the giants turned them against mankind in order to devour them. And they began to sin against birds, and beasts, and reptiles, and fish, and to devour one another's flesh, and drink the blood thereof. Then the earth complained of the unrighteous ones.

So there you have it! The Nephilim were the offspring of angels and women, and their disembodied spirits are what we refer to as demons. It is all layed out for you here, cut-and-dried, with the etymology of the original words of the Torah, quotes directly from Scripture, in the words of the Apostolic Fathers of the Christian Church (most of them only two or three generations from the time of Christ), and quoted from the Jewish pseudepigraphic Book of Enoch. The giants of Genesis were, and are, the Nephilim.

A brief word: do not get caught up on the idea that you can track down giants to spot the Nephilim. The early Church fathers state explicitly that the disembodied spirits of the Nephilim, the demons, are shapeshifters, and that they can take on any size or form when they wish to appear. Thus, just because you spot a tall person does not mean they have the DNA of angels mixed in with their human DNA, in fact, they likely do not. The giants mentioned in the Bible were much taller than any human who is alive today: 12 feet (Goliath) all the way up to 80 feet (the heighth of cedars, Amos 2:9).
